Our Treatments

Our aim at GS Clinical is to offer you the most evidence based clinical treatments that are safe, minimally invasive and give you results that are natural but noticeably improved. Here you can find out more about some of the treatments that we can offer in our clinic outside Carrickfergus. Anti-wrinkle Treatment


Anti-wrinkle treatments involve the use of prescribed medication that is licenced to treat fine lines and wrinkles. The most common areas we treat are the frown area, the forehead and around the sides of the eyes (crow's feet). The aim of the treatment is to relax the muscles which contribute to the development of static lines.


This treatment makes the lines look much softer and, over time, even stubborn static lines can be reduced. We can also treat other areas including the upper lip, the chin and the lower face and neck. Treatment options will be discussed during a consultation with Gary, where you can ask any questions and discuss whether this treatment is right for you.


Treatments are relatively pain free, take very little time (20-30 minutes) and can have lasting wrinkle reduction effects for up to 6 months.


Skin Boosters


Skin booster treatments are a great way to improve overall skin texture and quality with minimal treatment time. We use two main treatments here at GS Clinical.


The first being Profhilo. The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary 'beneath the skin' hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. , Profhilo® not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for all genders as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.


The second booster in our portfolio is Belatero Revive.


BELOTERO® Revive is a next-generation, injectable hyaluronic acid, skin booster designed to rejuvenate the quality of skin and revitalise the early signs of sun damage. BELOTERO® Revive is a useful early intervention treatment that offers a natural looking and enhanced skin look.


Treatment protocols normally advise two treatments of skin boosters to really achieve a lasting benefit. The effects of skin booster treatments can be seen up to 9 months. 


Skin boosters are great at giving the 'you look so refreshed' appearance and work well to enhance other skin treatments and routines.


Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler


Through the natural aging process, we lose volume in our face caused by the absorption of bone and a reduction in the deep fat pads. Our skin also loses hyaluronic acid, elastin and collagen which contributes to lines and wrinkles appearing and the face looking older. Over time, our lips become finer and less hydrated.


Through the use of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, we can naturally restore the lost volume in the mid and lower face. Restoring this volume can give immediate lift and a more natural youthful appearance. Popular areas that we treat with dermal fillers include the cheek area, the chin, the marionette lines and the jowls of the lower face and the lips.


Here at GS Clinical we only treat patients with the highest quality CE marked fillers (Juvederm, Belatero & Teoxane), with good safety data and safe injection practices. Our aim is to provide restorative treatments to help you to feel refreshed and rejuvenated in the most natural way. 


Dermal Filler treatments can also be used to masculinise or feminise facial features. Treatments that can help include treating the jawline, the cheeks, the chin and the lips.

HArmonyCa™


This dual-effect hybrid injectable combines two powerful ingredients, hyaluronic acid (HA) and calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa), to provide both an instant lift and long-lasting results.


What makes HArmonyCa™ unique is that it is a bio-stimulator. The cross-linked HA provides an immediate elevation of the skin, plumping out lines and wrinkles, while the CaHa stimulates collagen production in the skin to restructure, rejuvenate, and tighten the face. Additionally, lidocaine is included as one of the ingredients, making it a more comfortable treatment.

Sweat reduction treatment


Sweating is the bodies natural way to control body temperature and cool the body down. In some people, the sweat receptors can be overactive which result in excessive sweating at times when the body does not require cooling or regulation.


Excessive sweating can be embarrassing for some, particularly at times of social occasions, work related activities or times of anxiety or stress.


Using prescribed injectable medication, we can treat areas that are prone to sweating. The underarm area is a common treatment area that responds well to treatment. One treatment can last between 6-12 months and significantly reduce over production of sweat, allowing to you to enjoy life without the worry or concern of excess sweat.

Hair Restoration Treatments


 Hair loss for men and women can be very distressing, having a great impact on self esteem and wellbeing.  We have a number of proven treatments at GS Clinical that can reduce hair loss and increase the quality of hair growth.


Platelet Rich Plasma therapy (PRP)

Hair loss is generally caused by a lack of cell renewal in the scalp – which makes PRP the perfect treatment as it stimulates the production of new healthy cells. It is a simple and totally natural. PRP provides safe and reliable results and has a very quick recovery period. Only a small amount of blood is taken as though you are having your routine blood testing and local anesthesia is used, so you experience very minimal discomfort. PRP Hair treatments provides effective results with high success rate.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are revolutionary anti ageing treatments that use biological molecules which are essentially chains of nucleotides. Sometimes they are referred to as Biorevitalizers. 


They promote deep skin renewal and induce collagen production, providing long lasting rejuvenation.


Polynucleotides are derived from Salmon and can activate fibroblast and stem cells, enhancing the body’s natural capacity to regenerate skin cells.


Anti-inflammatory Effect: They can soothe and calm skin, reducing redness, irritation, and inflammation caused by various skin conditions, including acne, eczema, hyperpigmentation, and rosacea.


Suitable for Various Skin Concerns: Polynucleotides can be a potential treatment for individuals with fine lines, wrinkles, loss of elasticity, red and sensitive skin, rosacea, and scarring.


Versatility: They are effective in treating loss of elasticity in the face and neck, crepey or saggy neck, under-eye darkness, and are also useful for treating various areas like the face, neck, décolletage, upper arms, and conditions like acne, stretch marks, and scars.


Safety and Tolerance: Polynucleotides have an excellent safety record and are highly tolerated.



Quick and Lasting Results: Results can be seen as early as 20 days post-treatment, and the benefits have good longevity.




Micro-needling &PRP


Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment in which ultrafine needles are used to create micro-injuries to the skins surface without causing collateral damage. This stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin to support the natural healing process.


At GS Clinical we use a CE approved medical grade microneedling pen to reach the correct depths of dermis, depending on where we are treating. Unlike the traditional dermaroller treatments, PRP & Microneedling is able to deliver treatment at a more controlled depth, which is more comfortable, targetted with less downtime. It effectively targets the dermis (the skin beneath the epidermis) to mainly treat acne scars and uneven skin texture.


The treatment is sometimes referred to as collagen induction therapy as it is known for boosting collagen.


Microneedling on its own, produces great results, but can also be combined with PRP to produce added benefits.


We carry out this treatment by taking a small blood sample from your arm . This is then spun in a centrifuge machine that separates the blood cells, serum and platelets. The platelet rich plasma is extracted and injected directly back into the face or scalp. 


Platelets release growth factors that help the body repair itself by stimulating cells to generate new tissue. When injected into the skin or pushed into the skin using microneedling, this treatment promotes healthy skin and hair growth, and has been shown to be effective at improving fine lines, skin tone and dull skin.
